We have up to eighteen different positions across three different roles available for the 2026 summer camp season. Read on for descriptions and job details. Links to apply will open progressively in early 2026.

COORDINATOR / SECTION HEAD – $20+/HR

  • 4 Full-Time Positions Available
  • June 8 to August 28

One Section Head looks after each age group at camp (FUNdamentals, Discover, & Adventure). They are responsible for supervising the Leaders in their section, planning & leading section activities, camper check-in/out, and helping everyone in their section to have a great experience every day. This includes:

  • Staff and camper supervision.
  • Staff training, coordination, management, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensuring staff members are effective guides and mentors for campers.
  • Ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for those with varying capabilities or who may face unique barriers.
  • Managing equipment and supplies.
  • Communicating as needed with parents or guardians to provide individual updates.
  • Regular evaluations of program and staff performance that includes feedback from parents & participants.
  • Maintaining safety standards.
  • Reporting to upper management about camp operations, including any issues.
  • Preparing for and handling any crises or  emergencies efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading youth programs or camps.
  • Extensive paddling knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of open water safety.
  • Able to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 kgs.
  • Currently enrolled postsecondary student OR post-secondary diploma/degree.
    • Education relevant to youth programs or recreation would be an asset.
  • Available 730am to 530pm from Monday to Friday from June 30 to August 29.
    • Additional availability in June for staff training and camp planning is required.

Valuable Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience.
  • Knowledge or experience with planning and administration.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Current life guard or first-aid certification.
  • NCCP training or certification.
    • Canoe & Kayak Community Coach (CanoeKids)
    • Making Ethical Decisions
    • SafeSport
  • Eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs grant.

GROUP LEADER – $18+/HR

  • 10+ Full-Time Positions Available
  • June 23 to August 28

Group Leaders look after a group of campers within their section. With support from their Section Heads and the Camp Director, they maintain a safe & meaningful ratio of staff to campers. Group Leaders provide their groups with support, coaching, and supervision to help every camper to be at their best. This includes:

  • Organizing and delivering activities for youth.
  • Creating games and challenges that cater to campers’ interests and abilities.
  • Supporting campers to develop teamwork, leadership, confidence, and physical literacy.
  • Personal and group paddling instruction.
  • Cultivating an inclusive and respectful camp environment that promotes participation.
  • Effectively following safety regulations.
  • Promoting campers’ health and well-being.
  • Promote opportunities for interested campers to advance to paddling as a competitive level.
  • Tracking campers’ progress to complete report cards and inform future goals & development.
  • Promoting positive perceptions of the Paddle Centre within the local community.

Requirements:

  • Existing paddling knowledge and skills OR ability to quickly learn.
  • Knowledge of water safety.
  • Able to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 20 kgs.
  • Completed grade 10 for currently enrolled secondary students OR secondary school diploma.
    • Some postsecondary education would be an asset.
  • Available 730am to 530pm from Monday to Friday.
    • Staff will only be assigned to weeks they are fully available.
    • Preference will be given to individuals available for the full season.
