Our camps are outdoor education programs focused on paddling and adventure. Campers will spend nearly all of their time outdoors with much of that on Okanagan Lake. Instructors prioritize safety while supporting campers to build their confidence and skills.
WATER SAFETY & PADDLING SKILLS
At the core of our programs is teaching campers water safety and paddling skills. Campers explore the recreational, social, and competitive aspects of paddling while building their comfort and appreciation for being on the water. Each day will include at least two types of paddling and over the course of the week campers will experience outrigger canoe, paddleboard, and kayak or surfski.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
As an outdoor program, we foster a spirit of adventure and exploration that supports campers to develop their confidence and independence. Our instructors guide campers as they discover more about themselves and the positive impact they can make. With a focus on holistic developmental, we are always excited to see campers realize their potential and improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
NARRATIVE PROGRAMMING
We incorporate stories into each week’s activities as a way to improve campers’ engagement, fun, and sense of adventure. This enhances experiential learning for the campers and helps our day camps to feel more like a classic summer camp or outdoor expedition program.
Storylines reflect the theme of the week and are catered to each age group. This is an adventure for both the campers and the staff, as we improvise to reflect camper’s personalities, strengths, and the special moments that happen each week.
